Dr. Karren Prost, DVM, MPH candidate

Education: University of Guelph

Dr. Karren joined the O’Sullivan Animal Hospital team in May of 2012. She grew up in North Bay, and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she remembers. After two years of Animal Biology at the University of Guelph, Karren attended the Ontario Veterinary College. She recently completed a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. Her special interests include infectious and zoonotic diseases, dentistry as well as soft-tissue surgery. Dr. Karren also shares her time as a research assistant at the Sunnybrook Research Institute studying viruses and disease transmission in bats and pigs. Dr. Karren and her husband Christian share their home with two dilute calicos, Minou and Prin, and a shepherd cross named Forest. In her spare time, she enjoys mountain and road biking with her husband, downhill skiing, and she is an avid reader.
